WORK HARD, PLAY HARD.

The past week has been pretty cool. I scored tickets to Jay Z the other night. It was all sorts of dope. It was also a welcome back party for Vicious Vee's who just got back from Europe. Sorry, no camera, no pics.

We have been working pretty hard on the new Death Before Dishonour, It's almost ready for print. We just have to stop partying so much.


That's the new cover. Our mate Claudio ABCK rocked the text shit. We love it. The new ish should be in newsagents everywhere soon.

After the artshow I went to check out Dragonfly's ep launch;

He had some burlesque dancer before his set.


Dragonfly's plays to an intimate crowd. His parents were there. His Mum was so proud, which was weird considering that he raps about ripping out tampons and shit.

My mate Tristian Ceddia sent me the latest's Serpents zine he did with Ronny Fenwick from San Franscisco.

I picked up the new Arkitip magazine. It came with sock puppets.


P.A.M did the cover. It's fucking sick.

Rock and Roll Ash got back from tour today and stopped by the office with a carton of beer. Not much work happened after that.

The other night (well! actually, one night last week.) The Optimen played their last show in Brisbane for the year. We went along and proceeded to get drunk.

The Black Atlantic

So I'm doing artwork for The Black Atlantic, it's the new band of the ex-shai hulud singer (my favourite band in the entire universe) and I think it's coming along nicely. I also did a logotype up for them which I'm really happy with.


I bought this the other day, I have no money, but fuck, it's hulud and it's all remastered, including their cover of fearless vampire killers by bad brains, stoked.

Busy Week. Ready to do it all again...

Man, busy arse week and I still feel like I got nothing done.

I'll start with some food for thought that I read today in Philosophy zine from Japan;

"If you replace 'the things that you should do' with 'the things that you are forced to do', you will only be conscious of troubles and sufferings. Anyways so about a week ago I did photo's with Dragonfly - They were to be used amongst his CD art which I also rocked out this week. Funny guy and funny looking. He has an E.P. launch soon so check that out.

While working on the Dragonfly cd for quite a number of hours I discovered some frozen Pepsi Max in the freezer and went for some instant relief, while taking my first sip the ice blocking the mouth hole melted a little bit and the Pepsi rose from within the bottle and punched me right in the face. It felt like jumping into a swimming pool as a little kid and the water rushes into your nose.

EVERYTHING IN THE WHOLE KITCHEN WAS COVERED IN PEPSI COLA.


Sure was fun to clean up.


Friday I got a nice visit from DJP (Mustard Records) and Wizdm (Brethren) - Wizdm is on family holiday from Sydney - DJP moved to the Goldie a year ago but this is only the second time we have hung out - Was great to see them both again. DJP took the above photo of me and Wiz.

Saturday was hang out with Clanker time. First up we went freight spotting;


Found this really cool, old Stae and Pubes. Faded.


Then we went and explored this unknown spot that feels like an abandoned building but is actually right underneath a place where many people congregate. As I have mentioned before, I love places like this.

Then it was home time - The sky looked real nice.

At home I got to suss out some new shit that I got in the mail this week;


I had been waiting to see Quality of Life for a while - It's a pretty cool movie about graffiti writers. I liked it better that Bomb The System.


My Supreme book that I got off Ebay arrived, Love it.

The fine people at WESC sent me this weird but super nice book about "Street Horsing" - Nice photography, art and of course, horses.

The book came in a cool box (above) and also with this sweet moustache kit! Might have to rock some of these soon.

LIFE IN A PARK

I picked up a couple of new magazines. The two graff mags on the left I got while rumaging through mags at Butter Beats on Friday. Bomber has a nice interview with Banos and Ultra (The Silver One) I have been wanting to get my hands on for a while. I also picked up two issue's of Swindle mag that I have been missing. Bookstores in Brisso have taken a while to get them.

So Saturday was Elana's birthday.

We spent the morning having breakfast at Ric's then Elana and her girls were heading to the Parklife festival at SouthBank. At the last minute Matt from The Outpost hooked us up with some free tickets. So the girls headed to Southbank and Levi and I headed back to his place to squeeze in a bunch of pre-drinks.


7 bourbons later. All stoked about my VIP tickets. We head to Southbank on the ferry.

Mixmaster Mike was where the party really started. Mutherfucker was off the hook! Played the best tracks ever. I would tell you what they were but I was a little on the intoxicated side and I forget. It was as fun as a live act tho.
